In existing manholes where no stub exists, the contractor shall provide a channel in the portion of the base block located inside the manhole two inches larger than the outside diameter of the proposed stub. It shall be the responsibility of the contractor to perform all the necessary work on the exterior of the manhole in preparation for the installation of the new stub. The contractor shall be responsible for the alignment and grade of the new stub. The contractor shall make a watertight seal of the new stub from the outside of the manhole. All work by the contractor shall be performed in a manner that will maintain the integrity of the existing manhole. The contractor shall provide 48 hours’ notice to the District prior to the start of any work.
