The Manager shall conduct an annual review of user charges to ensure that, in the future, sufficient revenue is generated to provide adequate treatment on a continuing basis and that each recipient of service pays its proportionate share of operation, maintenance and repair costs. This review will be conducted through a comparison of charges assessed the Municipality by the Miami Conservancy District and charges assessed various user classes by the Municipality.
Each user will receive annual notification, in conjunction with a regular billing, of the rate and that portion of the user charge which is attributable to OM and R costs of wastewater treatment services. Users are presently billed monthly on an estimated flow at a flat monthly charge. If the user fails to pay the bill by the due date, a ten percent penalty shall be assessed. If the bill still remains unpaid, the amount shall be certified over to the County Auditor's office to be placed against the property taxes. The Municipality also reserves the right to disconnect service physically.
Fees and charges for water and sewer service shall be as provided in the General Fee Schedule.
