Backyard composting facilities shall be located no closer to the street than the principal building on the property. Only material defined as "compostable waste" shall be deposited in the backyard composting facility. Enclosures shall prevent the dispersion of compostable waste from being carried away by the elements. Backyards composting facilities shall be enclosed and maintained to prevent noxious odors, undesirable vermin or other health, safety or environmental hazards. (1998 Code)
