No official, officer, or employee shall engage in any business or transaction or shall be financially interested directly in said official's, officer's, or employee's own name or indirectly in the name of another person, association, trust, or corporation, which is incompatible with the proper discharge of his/her official duties in the public interest or would tend to impair his/her independence of judgment or action in the performance of his/her official duties.
