1-1-1: OATH OF OFFICE:
   A.   Requirement: The mayor, council members, and all officers, elected or appointed, shall, before entering upon the duties of their respective offices, take and subscribe the oath or affirmation prescribed by the constitution. Such oath or affirmation, so subscribed, shall be filed in the office of the city clerk. The oath of office shall, in all cases, be administered by the city clerk, except his own oath, which shall be administered by the mayor.
   B.   Time Of Administering: The oath of office shall be administered to the mayor and council members at the first regular council meeting in the month of May following the certification of results by the county clerk for the election at which the mayor and council members were elected.
