8-3-7: ELECTION OF OFFICERS OF BOARD:
   A.   The board shall consist of seven (7) members. The fire chief of the department shall be a member by virtue of his rank.
   B.   The members of the department shall elect six (6) members, two (2) of whom shall serve as members of the board in the following capacity: 1) chairman; 2) treasurer. These six (6) members shall be elected at large by the sworn members of the department from among themselves. The chief of the department shall serve as member and shall have a vote in all proceedings of the board.
   C.   Member elections shall be held annually prior to April 1 pursuant to the board's rules and regulations, and board members shall serve three (3) year terms as set out in the board's rules and regulations and until their successors are elected and installed, except as hereinafter provided. The board shall meet at least once in the month of April following the annual election of members.
   D.   Elections of chairman and treasurer shall be held annually, and shall be done at the first scheduled meeting in April. Officers shall serve a one year term and until their successors are elected and installed, except as hereinafter provided.
   E.   Vacancies shall be filled pursuant to the board's rules and regulations for the balance of the unexpired term.
   F.   Election procedures consistent with 65 Illinois Compiled Statutes 5/11-10-2 and this chapter shall be made available to all members at a minimum of thirty (30) days prior to any subsequent election. (Ord. 2016-25)
