The interment of any casket without being enclosed in an outer receptacle or vault fabricated of concrete with a one piece lid, or of steel, or of other material approved by the sexton, is prohibited unless the interment is being made in a formally platted natural burial block of Oakland Cemetery.
Upon approval of the sexton, it is permissible to use a two-piece polymer "butter dish" style outer receptacle/vault without the flat bottom section in non-natural burial blocks of Oakland Cemetery. (Ord. 2018-35)
