6-1-2: ESTABLISHED; BOUNDARIES; EXCLUSIVE USE AS BURIAL PLACE:
The land owned by the City, known as Oakland Cemetery, together with a certain piece of land within the City limits known as Woodlawn Cemetery, are and shall remain dedicated to burial purposes. In addition, land commonly known as the Snider Hill Cemetery, is and shall remain dedicated to private burial purposes. No other cemetery shall hereafter be established within the City limits.
   A.   Oakland Cemetery: The boundaries of Oakland Cemetery are as follows:
   Part of the northeast quarter of section 17, township 9 south, range 1 west of the 3rd principal meridian, Jackson County, Illinois, being more particularly described as follows:
   Commencing at an iron pin and cap located at the southeast corner of the northeast quarter of said section 17; thence north, along the east line of the northeast quarter of said section 17, a distance of 30.0 feet to a point; thence westerly with a deflection angle to the left of 91°14'11", a distance of 25.0 feet to a "p-k nail" located in the westerly right-of-way line of Oakland Avenue, being the point of beginning for this description: From said point of beginning; thence northerly with a deflection angle to the right of 91°14'11" along said westerly right-of-way line, being a line 25.0 feet westerly of and parallel with the east line of said quarter section, a distance of 1073.69 feet to an iron pin and cap located in the former southerly right-of-way line of the abandoned Illinois Central Railroad; thence northwesterly with a deflection angle to the left of 70°34'30", along said former right-of-way line, a distance of 1391.59 feet to an iron pipe located at a point of offset in said right-of-way line; thence southerly along said offset, with a deflection angle to the left of 108°47'35", a distance of 15.68 feet to an iron pipe; thence continuing northwesterly along said former right-of-way line with a deflection angle to the right of 108°47'35", a distance of 1441.52 feet to an iron pin and cap located at a point of intersection with the west line of the northeast quarter of said section 17; thence southerly along said west line with a deflection angle to the left of 109°43'21", a distance of 2077.76 feet to an iron pin and cap located at the southwest corner of the northeast quarter of said section 17; thence easterly with a deflection angle to the left of 90°30'31", a distance of 1324.21 feet to an iron pipe located at the southeast corner of the southwest quarter of the northeast quarter of said section 17; said point also being the southwest corner of the southeast quarter of the northeast quarter of said section 17; thence continuing easterly with a deflection angle to the left of 0°25'49" along the south line of the southeast quarter of the northeast quarter of said section 17, a distance of 1180.48 feet to an iron pin and cap located in the westerly right-of-way line of Oakland Avenue; thence northerly along said westerly right-of-way line with a deflection angle to the left of 88°12'23", a distance of 30.0 feet to an iron pin and cap located at a point of intersection with the northerly right-of-way line of Rigdon Street; thence easterly along said northerly right-of-way line, with a deflection angle to the right of 88°12'23", a distance of 156.68 feet to the point of beginning.
   Said Oakland Cemetery Tract containing 97.36 acres, more or less.
   B.   Woodlawn Cemetery: The boundaries of Woodlawn Cemetery are as follows: Outlot 33 in the City of Carbondale, Jackson County, Illinois, as recorded in plat book G, page 373 in the Recorder's Office, Jackson County, Illinois. (Ord. 2018-35)
