A. International Property Maintenance Code: The ICC international property maintenance code, 2003 edition, is hereby adopted by reference, except for such portions as are specifically hereinafter deleted, modified or amended.
B. Purpose: The purpose of this code is to secure its expressed intent, which is to ensure public health, safety and welfare insofar as they are affected by the continued occupancy and maintenance of structures and premises. Existing structures and premises that do not comply with these provisions shall be altered or repaired to provide a minimum level of health and safety as required herein. Repairs, alterations, additions to and change of occupancy in existing buildings shall comply with the international building code.
C. Code On File: A copy of the international property maintenance code, 2003 edition, shall be kept on file in the office of the city clerk and the same is hereby adopted and incorporated by this chapter as fully as if set out in length herein and provisions hereof including all deletions or modifications shall be controlling in the maintenance of property within the jurisdiction of the city of Carbondale.
