The purpose of this Chapter is:
A. To regulate the erection, construction, reconstruction, installation, operation, maintenance, dismantling, testing, repair and use of a cable communications system in, upon, along, across, above, over, under, or in any manner connected with the streets, public ways, or public places within the corporate limits of the City, as now or in the future may exist; and
B. To provide for payment of a fee and other valuable consideration to the City for construction and operation of a cable communications system; and
C. To provide for a regulation of rates to be charged within the confines of the Cable Communications Act of 1984; and
D. To provide for the development of the cable communications system and for other public purposes; and
E. To establish procedures for acceptance and evaluation of applications for a cable franchise; and
F. To provide remedies and prescribe penalties for the violation of this Chapter. (Ord. 90-85)
