17-1-8: DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS TO SUPERINTEND IMPROVEMENTS:
The director of public works shall superintend all improvements upon the streets, sidewalks, sewers and alleys. He shall have charge of the improvements, repair and cleaning of all streets and alleys and street crossings in the city. (1929 Code § 35-1; Ord. 1504 art. 5 § 3)
