A. Meters Required: All premises using water shall be metered and shall have a shutoff valve which will terminate all water supply to the entire structure. No person, except a department employee, shall break or injure the seal or change the location of, alter or interfere in any way with any water meter. All meters used for the purpose of billing by the city for water service shall be of a type approved by the department and shall be and remain the property of the city. Meter installation will be generally located on the property line as approved by the department and according to standards established by the American Waterworks Association (AWWA).
B. Service To More Than One Unit: When the consumption of water and/or sewer service for more than one residential unit is metered or recorded by a single meter, the service shall be in the name of the property owner or property manager and the property owner or property manager shall be billed for the services provided the residential units.
C. Service Deposit Requirements: The service deposit requirements shall be the same as the service deposit requirements established in section 16-3-8 of this title. (Ord. 98-42)
