Section 1-1 Prior Charter amended; name of Town changed from Pigeon River to Canton.
Chapter two hundred and sixty-five, Private Laws of one thousand eight hundred and ninety-one, entitled "An act to incorporate the town of Pigeon River, in Haywood County, North Carolina," as amended by chapter forty-three, Private Laws of one thousand eight hundred and ninety-three, changing the name of said town from Pigeon River to Canton, be and the same is hereby amended so as to read as follows.
