Exterior signs must relate solely to the business activity carried on in the structure. The size of all signs shall be limited in area to one-half (1/2) of the linear street frontage of the particular lot expressed in square feet. Signs shall not extend above the roofline of the building, nor into public rights of way. Each local commercial district may erect one freestanding sign, the area of which shall be included in the total area of permitted signs. See chapter 15 of this title for additional sign regulations.
