Whenever lane control signals are used in conjunction with official signs, they shall have the following meaning:
(A) Opaque arrows on green, green arrow on opaque background, or green alone: Drivers of vehicles facing such signals are permitted to use the lanes over which the signal is displayed providing that no intersection traffic control signal gives a stop indication affecting the lane or lanes involved.
(B) Opaque "X" on red, red "X" on opaque background or red alone: Drivers of vehicles facing such signals are prohibited from using the lane over which the signal is displayed. (Ord. 117, 10-6-1964)
