8-2-7: OFFICERS NOT TO BE INTERESTED IN CONTRACT:

No member of the council or other city officer shall be interested, either directly or indirectly, in any contract for work of the corporation, or become surety for any contractor or other person upon any bond to secure the performance of any contract with the city. (R.O. 1959, Ch. 36, Art. 5, Sec. 7)
