(A) Appointment: A system maintenance superintendent shall be appointed by the mayor with concurrence of the city council.
(B) Duties: The system maintenance superintendent shall:
1. Systematically review the conditions and plans, supervise the maintenance of storm sewers, water lines and sanitary sewers;
2. Prepare and monitor an annual budget/expenditure, a vehicle/truck/heavy equipment fleet and associated equipment and recommend capital requirements to the public works director;
3. Direct and provide guidance to subordinates relating to maintenance, repair and construction of public works department; and
4. Perform any other duties assigned by the public works director or mayor and city council. (Ord. 1745, 12-17-2002)
