Any person desiring to obtain a license as an auctioneer shall make application in writing to the mayor, setting forth in such application, his name, place of residence, place of business, and the names of his sureties, and thereupon the mayor shall cause the clerk to issue a license to such applicant to act as an auctioneer in accordance with the provisions of this chapter, upon the filing of the bond as required herein.
