3-1-16: EXPIRATION, NOTICE:
It shall be the duty of the city clerk, by notice in writing, to notify all persons holding licenses, not less than ten (10) days before the expiration of the same, of the date of their expiration, and also to notify all who, by any ordinance, are required to procure a license for their trade or occupation. Such notice shall also be given by the clerk immediately upon the expiration of any license, or as soon as the fact that any person is acting without license shall come to his knowledge. The notice shall be served by the chief of police or any police officer of the city, and may be left at the residence or place of business of the person notified, or if deemed necessary may be sent through the mail.
