§ 72.29 SUSPENSION OF USE.
   (A)   Council may suspend, for such periods of time and upon such conditions as prescribed by it, the use of parking meters for the purposes prescribed in this subchapter. Discontinuance and resumption of the use of parking meters shall be by resolution of Council, and during the period of suspension of use thereof such parking meters shall be rendered inoperable by covering, removal, or as otherwise prescribed by Council.

   (B)   In the event that the use of parking meters is suspended by the Council, the time limitations for legal parking in parking meter zones on the streets of the city shall be fixed and designated by the Chief of Police or other city official designated by Council, who shall indicate such time limitations by appropriate signs posted along such streets.

   (C)   Parking of a vehicle overtime or beyond the period of legal parking time in the same designated parking space shall be a violation of this subchapter and after violation and notice provided in § 72.27(B)attached to the vehicle parked in violation of this subchapter, continued parking of the same vehicle in the same space for any part of or all the next consecutive parking time limit shall constitute separate offenses.

   (D)   Except as otherwise provided by division (A) through (C) above, the provisions of this subchapter shall be applicable, mutatis mutandis.
