§ 71.17 CARELESS OPERATION OF A MOTOR VEHICLE.
   It shall be unlawful for any person to operate a motor vehicle without exercising due care and caution and without giving full regard for the safety of persons and/or property. Any person failing to do so shall be guilty of careless driving. The operation of a vehicle with equipment not in proper or safe condition shall constitute prima facie evidence of careless driving. Careless operation shall be unlawful and may be a lesser included offense of speeding or reckless driving. Violation of this section shall be punishable by a fine of not less than $75 nor more than $500.
