§ 113.01 DEFINITIONS.
   For the purpose of this chapter the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
   PRIVATE INVESTIGATION. The conducting or making, for hire, of any investigation for the purpose of:
      (1)   Obtaining evidence or testimony to be used before investigating committees, boards of award, or arbitration, or in the trial of civil or criminal cases, or
      (2)   Obtaining information with reference to any of the following matters:
         (a)   Crimes and offenses, or wrongs done or threatened;
         (b)   The habits, conduct, movements, associates, transactions, reputation, character, or location of persons, firms, or corporations;
         (c)   The credibility of witnesses or other persons;
         (d)   The location or recovery of lost or stolen property;
         (e)   The causes, origin, or responsibility for fires or accidents, or injuries to real or personal property, or strikes and labor difficulties.
   PRIVATE INVESTIGATION AGENCY. A person, firm, or corporation employing in the private investigation business one or more private investigators.
   PRIVATE INVESTIGATOR. Any person who engages in private investigation for hire, whether self-employed or employed by a private investigation agency.
