§ 51.35 DEFINITIONS.
   For the purpose of this chapter the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
   BILLING ADDRESS. The address at which the customer contractually liable for utility services furnished to a service address receives billings from the city. Billing addresses may, but need not, be the address at which said services are received.
   CITY. The City of Cambridge, including the City of Cambridge Utilities Department.
   CONSUMER. Any person who is the ultimate user of water utility services provided by the city.
   CONSUMER BENEFITTED UNIT. Any service address in which the customer who is contractually liable for utility services furnished that address does not reside.
   CUSTOMER. Any person who enters into a contractual agreement with the city to receive or to pay for utility services provided by the city. Customers may, but need not, be consumers of the services provided under such a contractual agreement.
   CUSTOMER BENEFITTED UNIT. Any service address in which the customer contractually liable for utility services furnished that address resides.
   DWELLING UNIT.
      (1)   Any room, group of rooms, house trailer, or other enclosure occupied or intended for occupancy as separate living quarters by a family or other group of persons living together or by persons living alone shall be classified as a dwelling unit. Each dwelling in a double house, in a row of connecting houses or in an apartment shall be billed as a separate entity. This shall not include hotels, motels, hospitals, nursing homes, and sleeping rooms. Sleeping rooms are defined as rooms without separate kitchen or bathroom facilities. In trailer parks, dwelling units shall include each space for which water is available, whether occupied or not.
      (2)   A multiple dwelling unit shall be those in which more than one dwelling unit is served by one meter.
   LARGE CONSUMERS. Users of an average of one million gallons per month, or more.
   SERVICE ADDRESS. Any individual address at which water utility services are furnished a consumer of customer benefitted unit. The singular may include the plural. Most service addresses will be individually metered. However, in some buildings one meter may supply more than one benefitted unit. In such circumstances, each individual benefitted unit is a separate service address as that term is used herein. In any case where one meter supplies more than one benefitted unit, the customer shall be the owner or legally authorized agent of the owner of the premises.
