§ 51.24 SIZE REDUCTION; SPECIFICATIONS; INCREASES.
A water main shall not be reduced in size when such main is extended on or along any public highway. When deemed necessary by the city for future development, the city shall specify the size main to be constructed and shall pay the difference between the price of six-inch cast-iron pipe and the price of the main specified by the city for such future development, except when such main is constructed on or along any public highway. If the immediate water demand by the developer is such that a six-inch main shall not be sufficient for his needs, he shall construct and pay the entire cost of a main of sufficient size to serve his needs.
