§ 35.04 HOLIDAYS.
   (A)   (1)   All full-time employees shall be granted the following holidays with pay provided the last scheduled work day before the holiday and the first scheduled work day after the holiday is worked.
      (2)   The last scheduled work day and the first scheduled work day is defined as that day that the employee is scheduled to work unless excused by the supervisor. Excused absences include only:
         (a)   Legitimate illness of the employee, verified by the supervisor, for which the employee has accumulated sick leave credits so that sick leave pay could be paid;
         (b)   A death in the immediate family as defined in § 35.13 for which bereavement pay is paid;
         (c)   Scheduled vacations for which time is paid; or
         (d)   Any other absence as provided by ordinances.

   July Fourth
   Labor Day
   Veterans Day
   Thanksgiving Day
   Christmas Day
   New Years Day
   Columbus Day
   Martin Luther King Day
   President's Day
      (3)   In the event any of the above holidays fall on Sunday, the next succeeding day shall be considered the holiday. In the event any of the above holidays fall on Saturday, the preceding day shall be considered the holiday.
      (1)   Any employee who is required to work on any of the paid holidays shall be paid time and one-half for the hours worked, in addition to regular holiday pay.
      (2)   Any employee that is required to work on the actual holiday (not the day considered the holiday) but is not required to work on the day designated as the holiday shall be paid time and one-half for working on the actual holiday.
      (3)   All employees of departments required to operate seven days a week shall be paid holiday pay when the holiday falls on their day off.
