Section 33.056 of this chapter will only take effect if the Fire Department becomes a combination or career department with paid firefighters and said firefighters form a union.
(A) The town does not refuse the right to form a fire union.
(B) The town will not enter into collective bargaining with a fire union over matters of fire operations and the forming of rules and regulations or standard operating guidelines, unless such pertain to health and safety.
(C) The town will enter into collective bargaining with a fire union concerning salaries, benefits and firefighter safety. The Fire Chief will retain operational control of the Fire Department.
