§ 33.046 DEPARTMENT ELECTIONS.
   (A)   Calera Fire-Rescue will hold elections of officers at the regularly-scheduled meeting in the month of December.
   (B)   All nominations for the elections will be made during the November meeting.
   (C)   All elected positions will take office on January 1.
   (D)   Elected officers will hold office from January 1 to December 31 of each calendar year.
   (E)   There are no term limits.
   (F)   No member can hold two elected positions.
   (G)   The positions of Fire Chief, Deputy Chief, Fire Marshal and Secretary-Treasurer will be elected annually.
   (H)   Any vacancy before the election will be filled by an appointment from the Fire Chief until the next regular or special election is scheduled. The appointment will be known officially as “acting” and the position, such as “Acting Fire Marshal.”
   (I)   (1)   In the event of a tie, a second ballot will be cast.
      (2)   In the event of a second tie, the currently-elected and appointed officers will vote. In the event of a second tie for the position of Fire Chief, the third vote will go before the Town Board.
