09-01-01: STATE LAW ADOPTED:
   (1)   It is hereby declared to be the intent of the governing body of the City to aid and assist, by whatever means possible, for the utmost consistency in traffic regulation among and between agencies of Idaho having jurisdiction.
   (2)   Therefore, there is hereby adopted for the purpose of establishing rules and regulations for the use of all streets and public thoroughfares of the City that certain code identified as the Idaho Motor Vehicle Laws, more particularly Title 49, Idaho Code, and as the same may hereafter be revised by the State legislature, or amended by the governing body, and the same is hereby adopted and incorporated as an ordinance of the City as fully as though set forth at length herein.
   (3)   Three (3) copies of the said State law, together with any revisions or amendments, duly certified by the City Clerk, shall be kept on file in the Clerk's office for use and examination of and by the public. (1994 Code)
09-01-03: ISSUANCE OF CITATIONS:
Upon a violation of any provisions of this Chapter where it involves the adoption of the laws hereinabove stated, the arresting officer shall execute the citation in the following manner:
Violation of Caldwell City Code, Section 09-01-01 (being in particular, Section 49-_______ (Idaho Code). (1994 Code)
09-01-05: ENFORCEMENT OF REGULATIONS:
   (1)   Authority of Police and Fire Officials:
      A.   It shall be the duty of the officers of the Police Department or such officers as are assigned by the Chief of Police to enforce all street traffic laws of the State and the municipality.
      B.   Officers of the Police Department or such officers as are assigned by the Chief of Police are hereby authorized to direct all traffic by voice, hand or signal; provided, that in the event of a fire or other emergency or to expedite traffic or to safeguard pedestrians, officers of the Police Department may direct traffic as conditions may require.
      C.   Officers of the Fire Department, when at the scene of a fire, may direct or assist the police in directing traffic thereat or in the immediate vicinity.
   (2)   Required Obedience: It shall be unlawful for any person to do any act forbidden or fail to perform any act required herein.
   (3)   Obedience to Police and Fire Officials: It shall be unlawful for any person to wilfully fail or refuse to comply with any lawful order or direction of a police officer or Fire Department official. (1962 Code, Sections 11-2-1, 11-2-2 and 11-2-3)
09-01-07: PUBLIC EMPLOYEES:
The provisions of this Chapter shall apply to the driver of any vehicle owned by or used in the service of the United States government, this State, county or municipality, and it shall be unlawful for any such driver to violate any of the provisions of this Chapter except as otherwise provided.
