(A) All water bills for the previous month’s water service shall be paid on or before the fifteenth day of the month in which it was billed. For any billing not paid when due a late charge of 5% will be added to the bill.
(B) Late fees. Late payment fees shall be issued on all water bills not paid by the fifteenth of each month by the end of office hours at City Hall.
(C) Full payment. Full payment is required each month, which includes all water used, refuse charges, sewer charges, and fees or late payments due.
(D) Payment plan arrangements. In special situations, the City Clerk can approve a payment plan to pay for water services over a period of time. The intent of this authority is to assist the consumer that has incurred a unique situation.
(1) The City Clerk may grant a seven day extension for payment. Past due balance must be paid in full.
(2) The City Clerk shall consider past payment history to determine eligibility for extensions or payment plans, and payment plans shall not exceed six months in length.
(3) Missed payments under the plan will render the agreement null and void, and all monies owed are due immediately to avoid service disconnection. (Ord. passed 6-13-2023)
