901.03 SUPERVISION BY CITY ENGINEER; RESTORATION.
   All openings made within the street lines or sidewalk removed shall be subject to the directions of and under the supervision of the City Engineer. After the work is done, as contemplated by the permit application as required in Section 901.02, the trench or opening shall be refilled, in accordance with the directions of the Engineer and the concrete, paving or other material shall be properly replaced under the supervision of the Engineer at the applicant's expense except as hereinafter stated.
   Where openings are made through existing street pavements for the purpose of connecting drains from properties to existing sewers for the benefit of the property owners, the City shall furnish the material and backfill under the pavement only and repair the pavement at no cost to the abutting property owner. However, any street cuts required for maintenance or repair of existing connections shall be at the entire expense of the benefited property owner.
