§ 35.02 APPOINTMENT AND ELECTION OF JUDGE; TERM AND BOND.
   (A)   Appointment and election. The Judge of the Town Court shall be appointed by the Town Council to serve for a term beginning on the effective date of his appointment and ending at 12:00 noon on January 1, 1996. Thereafter, the Judge of the Town Court shall be elected at the Municipal Election to be held November 6, 1995 and at each subsequent municipal election held every fourth (4th) year after 1995.

   (B)   Term; bond. The judge shall be elected under I.C. 3-10-6 or I.C. 3-10-7 by voters of the Town. The term of office of the judge elected under this chapter is four (4) years, beginning at 12:00 noon on January 1 after election and continuing until a successor is elected and qualified. Before beginning the duties of office, the judge shall, in the manner prescribed by I.C. 5-4-1, execute a bond in the penal sum of five thousand dollars ($5,000), conditioned upon the faithful performance of the duties of his office with good and sufficient surety. The bond must be approved by the Town Council and filed in the office of the Clerk-Treasurer.
