§ 152.52 SIDEWALK STANDARDS.
   (A)   Applicability. All proposed plats within the R-5, R-6, D-l, D-2, A-8, A-16, MD or PUD Districts, or any business, industrial or manufacturing district submitted for Plan Commission approval under the provisions of this chapter shall make provision for sidewalks in compliance with the standards set forth below.
   (B)   Sidewalk system plan.
      (1)   A sidewalk system plan shall be prepared as part of the application for primary and secondary plat approval which provides every lot within a subdivision with reasonable access to sidewalks connecting with all of the community facilities or commercial enterprises within or adjacent to the subdivision, in a manner that will provide convenient pedestrian circulation throughout the neighborhood or area in which the subdivision is located.
      (2)   The Plan Commission may require the construction of sidewalks to connect with existing or future proposed sidewalks in areas adjacent to the subdivision where the sidewalk system plan is approved by the Plan Commission.
   (C)   Specifications governing sidewalk construction. Any sidewalk shall:
      (1)   Be constructed of portland cement concrete unless otherwise approved by the Plan Commission;
      (2)   Have a minimum depth of 4 inches;
      (3)   Have a minimum depth of 6 inches when built across alleys;
      (4)   Have a slope of 1/4 inch per foot toward the street (except where prohibited by topography);
      (5)   Be completely located at least 1 foot within the right-of-way;
      (6)   Have a minimum compressive strength of 2,500 psi in 28 days, 5% air mixture and 4-inch slump; provided, however, those portions of sidewalks which are to be crossed by a driveway shall have a minimum compressive strength of 4,000 psi;
      (7)   Have minimum widths as follows:
         (a)   Single-family or 2-family developments, where required: 4 feet;
         (b)   Multi-family developments: 5 feet; and
         (c)   Business, industrial or manufacturing: as approved by the Plan Commission.
