(A) The Town Marshal, all Deputy Marshals and all Reserve Marshals shall be citizens of the United States, be high school graduates as evidenced by a diploma issued by a state-accredited high school (or a GED), possess a valid Indiana driver's license, and shall not have been convicted of any felony or any other crime or series of crimes which would indicate to a reasonable person that the applicant is potentially dangerous, violent or has a propensity to break the law. In addition, they shall be eligible for training at the Indiana Law Enforcement Training Academy.
(B) The Town Marshal and all Deputy Marshals shall live within the town limits unless authorized to live outside the town in the sole discretion of the Town Council. If so authorized, the authorization must be reflected in the minutes of a Town Council meeting.
