1610.15   SCHEDULE OF CHARGES FOR THE COST OF EMERGENCY EXPENSES DUE TO UNAUTHORIZED SPILLS, RELEASES AND DISCHARGE OF MATERIALS.
   The following is a schedule of fees to be charged with respect to unauthorized spills, releases and discharge of materials:
Aerial Tower:
      $400.00 for first hour or any portion thereof
      $6.60 per minute after first hour
   Engines:
      $300.00 for first hour or any portion thereof
      $5.00 per minute after first hour
   Hazardous Material Vehicle:
      $350.00 for first hour or any portion thereof
      $5.80 per minute after first hour
   Air Wagon:
      $300.00 for first hour or any portion thereof
      $5.00 per minute after first hour
   Truck:
      $300.00 for first hour or any portion thereof
      $5.00 per minute after first hour
   Squad Ambulance:
      $200.00 for first hour or any portion thereof
      $3.30 per minute after first hour
 
Supplemental Automobiles:
      $ 24.00 for first hour
      $.40 per minute after first hour
   Equipment, Apparel and Supplemental Supplies:
      Sanitization, cleaning and/or repairs: Actual cost
      Replacement: Actual cost of replacement
      Examples of items commonly used:
         Oil dry, bag
         Absorbent clay, bag
         Trisodium phosphate, bag
         Light soda ash, bag
         Polyethylene, roll
         Drums and trash cans
         Buckets
         Brushes
         Hoses
         Towels
         Soap
         Rubber encapsulated suits
         Acid splash suits
         Neoprene gloves
         Rubber gloves
         Hard hats
         Duct tape
         Baby powder
         Knee boots
         Intake fluids
         Turnout gear
   Assistance of Private Party or Governmental Body:
      Actual costs charged by assisting party or body
         Example: City of Cleveland - $1,500.00 minimum
 
Personnel:
      One and one-half times the actual hourly rate
      Minimum charge of one hour, and thereafter charged per minute on a prorated basis
   Other Direct and Incidental Costs:
      Actual cost, or replacement cost as appropriate
      Examples: Telephone and communication costs
            Medical expenses
            Costs of disposal of material(s)
   NOTE:
      All vehicle charges commence upon departure from station and cease upon return to station. Chargeable personnel costs shall include all time spent in connection with the spill, including, but not limited to, time spent in transit, on-scene, and elsewhere, while sanitizing, cleaning, repairing and/or replacing material(s) or property. Reference should be made to Section 1610.15 of the Codified Ordinances of the Village of Brooklyn Heights for a detailed description of chargeable costs.
