§ 71.04  VIOLATIONS.
   (A)   Unattended vehicle in posted “No Parking” area. It shall be a violation of this chapter to leave a motor vehicle unattended in any area of the city which is posted “No Parking”.
   (B)   Parking between the hours of 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. It shall be a violation of this chapter to leave a motor vehicle unattended on any city street whether posted or not posted between the hours of 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. It shall also be a violation of this chapter to leave a motor vehicle parked in any City lot between the hours of 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. unless the lot is adjacent to an apartment building or residence without dedicated parking. Parking between the hours of 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. at Greenwald Park is prohibited. This provision shall not apply to City Hall, Department of Public Works, Police Department, or Fire Department parking lots for those performing official business on behalf of or for the City of Bronson or Bronson Fire Department. This provision shall also not apply to semi truck or tractor trailer parking at the Department of Public Works parking lot as outlined in § 71.04 (D).
   (C)   Certain streets. It shall be a violation to leave a motor vehicle unattended on U.S. 12 (Chicago Street) between the intersection of Buchanan Street and U.S. 12 west to the entrances to 120 W. Chicago St.
   (D)   Trucks and tractors in restricted parking lots. It shall be a violation to park a semi-truck or a semi-tractor at any time on any residential street or driveway or parking lot maintained by the city. Semi-trucks and tractor trailers parking is permitted at the City’s Department of Public Works parking lot located at 201 Industrial Ave.
   (E)   Left wheel to curb parking (parking against the flow of traffic) is prohibited. A vehicle shall be stopped or parked with the wheels of the vehicle parallel to the roadway and within 12 inches of any existing curb; or if no curb is present, as close as practical to the edge of the improved roadway surface on the passenger side of the vehicle.
   (F)   (1)   Other prohibited parking areas:
         (a)   On a sidewalk;
         (b)   In front of a public or private driveway;
         (c)   Within an intersection;
         (d)   Front yard on an unimproved surface. An improved surface shall consist of a parking strip, parking bay, driveway and garage, or any combination thereof, and shall be located on the premises they are intended to serve;
         (e)   Within 15 feet of a fire hydrant;
         (f)   On a crosswalk;
         (g)   Within 20 feet of a crosswalk, or if there is no crosswalk, then within 15 of the intersection or property lines at an intersection;
         (h)   Within 30 feet of the approach to a flashing beacon, Stop Sign, or traffic control signal located at the side of a highway; and
         (i)   In a place or manner that block the use of an alley.
      (2)   The Chief of Police of the city shall have the authority to designate the places for parking of semi-tractors and/or trailers on any parking lot maintained and operated by the city and shall have the authority to control traffic in the parking lots by appropriate signs or markings; the driver, operator or person in charge of any vehicle who disregards any signs or markings may be punished as provided herein.
      (3)   No motor vehicle which exceeds 24 feet in length; and no combination of motor vehicle, truck, tractor, semi-trailer, bus or other vehicle which in combination exceeds 24 feet in length, shall be parked on any residential street or driveway or in a parking lot owned or operated by the city, except as otherwise designated. The vehicles or combinations of vehicles mentioned in this section may be prohibited from parking in such lots at any other times as may be determined by the Chief of Police, upon notice thereof being posted by him or her in such lots. School buses being used in the normal course of school related activities shall not be deemed a violation of this section.
