§ 91.03 SIDEWALK MAINTENANCE.
   (A)   In order to promote safety, protect public and private property and avoid unsightly nuisances in the city, it shall be the duty of all owners of real estate in the city to maintain all public sidewalks, including driveways across sidewalks, to maintain the sidewalks in a slate of good repair.
   (B)   Whenever any public sidewalk or driveway across the sidewalk within the city shall require repair or replacement, the Building/Zoning Administrator shall notify the property owner of the condition, advise that the condition violates this section and give the owner a reasonable period of time to make any necessary repairs. If the property owner does not make the repairs within the time allowed or any written extensions thereof given by the Building Inspector, the Building Inspector shall cite the owner to the city’s Code Enforcement Board for violating this section and the Code Enforcement Board will follow its ordained procedures fo enforcement of city ordinances in addressing the alleged violation including imposition of civil fines.
   (C)   The city may enforce the obligation of all property owners to maintain sidewalks in good repair by undertaking repair at the city’s expense, and the costs of same shall be recoverable through action of the Code Enforcement Board pursuant to KRS 65.8835(1), which costs shall be included in the lien provided to the city by that statute if unpaid.
