A party obtaining a permit for the logging of trees or for the sale of such trees shall be required to post a cash bond in the amount up to $10,000, as determined by the City Engineer. The bond shall be placed in the city depository and shall be forfeited in proportion to the damage to public property caused by the logging of trees. The bond shall in no way limit the city or other persons from pursuing any other legal remedies for claims in excess of or in addition to the amounts covered by the bond. Such bond shall be in addition to the bond required by § 848.03.
