(a) Residential property owners may apply for a fire fee hardship exemption if they meet the strict income and residence eligibility criteria set forth in the Residential Hardship Exemption Application, as may from time to time be amended. Copies of the Residential Hardship Exemption Applications will be available at City Hall. Owners wishing to receive this exemption on an annual basis will be required to file an application each year.
(b) Property owned by churches or synagogues will be exempt from the fire fees; provided, however, the property owned by churches or synagogues which is used for residential purposes and rental property shall not be exempt from the fire fee.
