The following rules shall govern the operation of rescue and ambulance services in the village.
(A) The ambulance and rescue units are authorized to leave the village limits to transport victims to a nearby hospital under emergency conditions.
(B) The ambulance and rescue units are authorized to leave the village to transport a firefighter or police officer who is ill or who has been injured while en route to, from, or at the scene of an emergency.
(C) The ambulance and rescue units are authorized to leave the village limits under emergency conditions to transport a village firefighter, village police officer or other village employees who is engaged in training exercises pertaining to their employment with the village.
(D) The ambulance and rescue units will be authorized to leave the village to transport to the hospital any village employee who becomes ill or injured while in the performance of his or her duties.
(E) The ambulance and rescue units will be authorized to leave the village if the village has a mutual rescue and ambulance contract with another Fire Department which has a similar service.
(F) The ambulance and rescue units will be authorized to leave the village to service all or part of the surrounding township with the approval of Council by a written contract.
(G) The ambulance and rescue units are authorized to leave the village limits to give assistance in a disaster type situation.
(H) The ambulance and rescue units may not leave the village limits to take part in parades or social activities.
(I) The ambulance unit may not leave the village limits on a fire call or as a part of the firefighting unit, unless specifically needed.
(J) The ambulance unit will be used as an emergency vehicle only and can not be used as an ambulatory service.
(K) The ambulance and rescue units are authorized to leave the village for any maintenance that can not be performed in the village.
(L) The ambulance and rescue units may not leave the village limits for any reasons except for those that have been authorized by this section.
(M) The rescue unit is authorized to leave the village as a part of the firefighting unit on fire calls and/car rescue calls.
