In accordance with § 52.071 of this chapter, users shall be requested to reduce water consumption by practicing voluntary conservation techniques. The governing body suggests reasonable and meaningful actions which will alleviate existing or potential water shortages. When the town’s public water system is in imminent danger of a shortage of water or is experiencing a shortage of water, the governing body shall declare a water conservation emergency and establish the appropriate conservation measures and the duration thereof.
