§ 30.023 PARK ENTITIES.

   (A)   Department of Parks and Recreation. The Brazil Department of Parks and Recreation shall have administrative and management jurisdiction over Forest Park and Babe Wheeler Park. The Department shall consist of a Parks and Recreation Board, a Park Superintendent and other personnel that the Board deems necessary.

   (B)   Parks and Recreation Board. The Parks and Recreation Board shall consist of 4 members appointed by the Mayor with no more than 2 being affiliated with the same political party.

   (C)   Park Board terms of office. The terms of office and the filling of vacancies shall be according to applicable state statutes.

   (D)   Park Board powers and duties. The powers and duties of the members of the Parks and Recreation Board and the Park Superintendent shall be pursuant to I.C. 36-10-3-1 through 36-10-3-14 and other applicable provisions of this code.

   (E)   Municipal Golf Course Board.

      (1)   The City of Brazil Municipal Golf Course Board shall have the power to govern, control, supervise and operate the Brazil Municipal Golf Course.

      (2)   The Municipal Golf Course Board shall consist of 5 members appointed by the Mayor.

      (3)   The terms of office of Board members and the filling of vacancies shall be according to the powers set forth in Chapters 97 and 98 of this code.
