(a) All full time and part time members of the Police Department shall be entitled to the following amounts as an annual uniform allowance for each year, which is defined as January 1st to December 31st:
(1) | Full time members Chief of Police,Lieutenants, Sergeants, and Police Officers: | $1,000 |
(2)(a) | Part time Police Officers who work at least 200 hours in the prior year: | $ 500 |
(2)(b) | Part time Police Officers who work less than 200 hours in the prior year: | $ 250 |
(3) | Emergency allowance for Chief of Police, Lieutenants, Sergeants, and Police Officers: | $ 200 |
(b) This uniform allowance will be paid directly to venders or as reimbursement to eligible employees upon presentation of receipts for the purchase of approved uniform items.
(c) Such allowance shall be for the purchase of uniform items from a list of authorized items prepared by the Police Chief and approved by the Mayor.
(d) In the event a part time Police Officer is elevated to full time status throughout the year, he or she shall be entitled to the prorated difference between the allowances in a total annual amount not to exceed $1,000 for the year.
(e) In addition to the above, a uniform maintenance allowance of $300 per year shall be paid semi-annually to each full time officer of the Police Department who has worked a full time schedule for the prior six months on or about June 15th and on or about December 15th of each year.
