The acting Chief of Police, as Marshal, and all other officers of the Department, as Deputy Marshals, shall continue in office in their same rank from and after the effective date of this section (Ordinance 1672, passed October 21, 1964). All such officers shall be credited with their tenure in the present Police Department and shall retain the same rank.
