(A) The Mayor shall be elected at the regular municipal election held in the year 1975 and every fourth year thereafter, for a term of four years.
(B) His or her term shall commence and he or she shall assume office on January 1 next following the election. He or she shall serve until his or her successor is elected and qualified.
