(a) Any individual or entity who tenders a check to the Village of Boston Heights that is processed and reported to:
(1) Be from an account with insufficient funds,
(2) Be from a closed account,
(3) Be from an account that cannot be located, and/or
(4) Have had a stop payment order placed upon it for any reason, shall be charged a forty-five dollar ($45.00) fee by the Village of Boston Heights to cover the costs that the Village of Boston Heights incurs in bank, employee and administration expenses as a result of accepting the individual or entity check.
(b) The procedures enumerated in Codified Ordinance 133.07(a)(4) shall be applicable to all departments within the Village of Boston Heights when payment is made with a non-sufficient fund check.
(c) The Fiscal Officer and/or Mayor's Clerk shall deposit this fee in the fund it was originally intended for. The Village Solicitor/Prosecutor is hereby authorized to take whatever means necessary to collect said fee. (Ord. 2015-7-20. Passed 9-9-15.)
