An administrative official designated by the Council shall administer this chapter. Said official may be provided with the assistance of such other persons as the Council may direct. If the administrative official shall find that any of the provisions of this chapter are being violated, such official shall notify in writing the person responsible for such violations, indicating the nature of the violation and ordering the action necessary to correct it. The administrative official shall order discontinuance of illegal use of land, buildings, or structures; removal of illegal buildings or structures, or of additions, alterations; or structural changes thereto; discontinuance of any illegal work being done; or shall take any other action authorized by this chapter to insure compliance with or to prevent violation of its provisions. All departments, officials, and employees of the City who are vested with the duty or authority to issue permits or licenses shall issue no such permit or license for any use, structure, or purpose if the same would not conform to the provisions of this chapter. Each person is guilty of a separate offense for each and every day during any portion of which any violation of any provision of the ordinances of Boone is committed, continued or permitted by any such person, and said person shall be punished accordingly. Nothing herein contained shall prevent the City from taking such other lawful action as is necessary to prevent or remedy any violation.
