§ 151.31 HEATING STANDARDS.
   (A)   In multi-family housing, liquid fuel to be stored in outside tanks and piped to heating units;
   (B)   No loose bricks in chimney;
   (C)   No hanging masonry chimneys;
   (D)   No holes in flue;
   (E)   Thimbles grouted in tight;
   (F)   Thimbles high enough for stovepipe to rise one-fourth inch per foot minimum;
   (G)   Combustible materials shall not be placed within six inches of the edges of a fireplace opening. Combustible material above and projecting more than one and one half inches from the face of the fireplace opening shall have a minimum clearance of 12 inches above the opening;
   (H)   Fireplace used only for supplemental heat and not for basic heating;
   (I)   Masonry closure, if fireplace opening is closed;
   (J)   Stove within six feet of thimble serving it;
   (K)   Clearances for appliances are to be as per the manufacturer’s installation instructions or in the case of unlisted approved units, use the tables in Vol. III of the State Building Code; and
   (L)   No stovepipe through combustible walls.
