§ 151.22 MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR LIGHT AND VENTILATION.
   (A)   No person shall occupy as owner-occupant or let or sublet or offer to let or sublet to another for occupancy any dwelling unit designed or intended to be used for the purpose of living, sleeping, cooking and eating therein, which does not comply with the following requirements. Every habitable room shall have a window or windows with a total glassed area of not less than eight square feet or 8% of the floor area, whichever is greater. Windows shall be so arranged that at least one-half of the glassed area is openable, unless the room is otherwise properly ventilated by mechanical means.
   (B)    Exception: in existing buildings that complied with the applicable codes and laws at the time of installation. The minimum size window allowed will be 16 inches by 32 inches. If, in the opinion of the Housing Inspector, the location of the window and other means of egress constitute a hazard this exception shall not apply.
