(A) Every person operating a motorized golf cart or all terrain vehicle, under permit, on the designated roadways has all the rights and duties applicable to the driver of any other vehicle lawfully licensed on the state’s roads and highways. All operators must follow all of the traffic laws of the state except where those provisions cannot be reasonably applied to golf carts and all terrain-type vehicles. All persons operating ATVs and golf carts must have a valid driver’s license issued by a State Department of Public Safety allowing them to operate a motorcycle or motor vehicle. Non-U.S. citizens, who possess their own country’s driver’s license will have to meet the same requirements as if they were operating an automobile (visa, passport, and the like).
(B) Any modification to the exhaust that causes or makes the engine/motor to emit or make more noise will not receive a permit from the town, until which time the modification issue has been resolved.
(C) Any violation of the state traffic laws will be punishable by the same fines and costs as those relating to other motor vehicles.
