2-10-10: CONFIDENTIALITY OF RECORDS AND INFORMATION:
The Office of Police Accountability shall comply with all state and federal laws requiring the confidentiality of law enforcement records, information, and confidential personnel records. A police officer, police employee, or citizen may waive his or her personal privacy rights. BPD remains the records custodian of any police reports, on-body video, audio recordings, or OIA documents provided to the Office of Police Accountability for review. The Office of Police Accountability shall not release any such materials to any member of the public without written approval from BPD. (Ord. 21-21, 7-13-2021)
